The best way to increasing your computer performance is by increasing the ram size, usually done by adding a new ram.
But in this post i am going tell you how to increase the ram size virtually by taking a few amount of space from the hard disk.
You can increase the virtual ram size only up to a certain limit.
Lets say, you are having a 512 MB ram installed in your computer then you can increase your virtual ram size only upto 1024 MB i.e. double the amount of your ram size. This size will be taken from the hard disk space.
Let explain how to do this.
- First close all the applications that your are run other than the browser.
- In the desktop, select the my computer icon and right click on it.
- You will find properties option in the last, now click on the properties.
- Now on the top you will find many menu names like general, computer name, hardware, advanced, remote, automatic updates, and system restore.
- Now click on the advanced tab.
- You will get a window as shown figure

In the performance section, click on the setting button.
Now click on the advanced tab, as shown in the figure.

In the virtual memory section, click on the change button.
You will now get a window as shown in the figure.

Here is the place where you will have edit your virtual memory size.
First click on the C: drive and then below that click on the custom button.
Now just enter the doubled value of your ram and that should be less than the maximum size shown.
Then click set, ok and apply.
You will now feel the speed difference of your computer.
Happy computing.

In this post i will explain how to check your hard disk space in the windows operating system.
There two methods to check the hard disk space one is using command another one is graphical.
Using Command:
Press windows + R button you will get the run console.
In that type diskmgmt.msc and hit enter.
This very easily one to reach the diskmanagement console.
Using Graphical Method.
Fisrt right-click on the my computer icon as shown in the below figure.
Then in the menu select the manage option, you will get a window as shown in the figure.

In the left column you should select the disk manager as soon as you click on that you will get consoles as shown in the below figure. For on the images for Larger View

The box that i have indicated in the red color is the basic harddisk and the total size of the disk can be seen there. In this case my 40 GB harddisk is shown as 37.25gb because some amount of space from the hardisk is taken by the os for the file system. So you can round up the value for the exact harddisk space.
The bule box shown in the figure is the C:\ dirve where the Opretaing system is installed and under that you can see that you can see the size of the paricular drive in GB.
The other green with blue boxes are the additional drives and the additional number of drives may vary according to the number of partition created.
If there is any green box it means that a few amount of space is unalocated and useless which can be used creating a new partition.
The below box is nothing but the external memory media connected to the pc like cd-rom,pen drive, etc.
